"Hi, I am Kat and I have recently moved to the fabulous city of Liverpool. I am the Story Keeper here at Kingsley and Co.
This basically means it is my job to engage as many people as possible in stories and reading. Before joining the Kingsley team I was a primary school teacher for 8 years. I could not resist applying for this job because I have always loved reading and I love the idea of sharing my passion for stories with others. My pile of books to read is already very large and I cannot image working in a bookshop is going to help that but I am excited. I am also really excited about getting the chance to work in schools as well as in the shop.
I don’t think I would be able to pick a favourite book even if I tried really hard. There are just so many good ones out there. I love Matilda by Roald Dhal. I love the Cogheart series by Peter Bunzl. I love the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan and that is just the ones I can name off the top of my head now. If I think about it for much longer that list would grow and grow."
"Hi, I’m Nick and I’m made up to be part of YKids and to take on the role of Manager at the amazing Kingsley & Co bookshop and cafe.
Originally from Manchester way, I’ve been based in Ormskirk for a long while since training as a teacher at EdgeHill Uni. After 5 years in Primary Teaching I went over to Transylvania in Romania as a missionary working with a local church. There I did youth and pastoral work, taught English and oversaw a local soup kitchen/charity venture and pig farm!
Since returning to the UK with my lovely wife I’ve been an administrator, home schooling Dad of 3 wonderful girls, and most recently facilities manager for a Church hall and Cafe complex.
I’m looking forward to getting to know and work with fabulous volunteers in Kingsley and be part of the YKids mission in equipping children and young people to become world changers."
